Thinking of getting another tool. Is the TWINMAX a suitable carb balancer for the 1150 GS?

From the research I have donw on the web it seems okay. Best price I can find is £63 + postage any obvious places to look for a better deal?

Any advice appreciated.

I'd build yourself a manometer for a total cost of about £8-11. If you want a tool I'd check out the harmonizer from grok. I have both and use both.... though to be fair the manometer does a dandy job. :beerjug:

I have one if you want to try one before buying, also have a Morgan balancer if you want to copare the two.

I`ve got one if you want to buy one, never used it!

The new Harmoniser looks good but I cant find a UK suppplier, at around $120 plus postage from the states if customs and vat added would make it over £100. Anyone found a UK supplier and Know the price.

No uk supplier.... buy from his directly through this site or adv rider.

I have used a twin max with no problems for the past few years. Prior to that I had a carbtune II which was ok-ish.
I have now invested in the Harmonizer which is a great bit of kit and makes the task very straight forward:thumb2.
However, they will all do the job.
You could even make your own by nailing bits of plastic pipe to a plank of wood and bunging some old christmas aftershave in the tube, like many on here already have;).

Oh yes, I have a twin max for sale by the way :thumb.

I've always used vacuum gauges, never had any issues and assumed they're as accurate as any other method:nenau

It can only be as accurate as the different guage springs on each dial.

Had them calibrated through their full working range lately ? :D

Calibrated?
Oh yes I get a Tai girl to suck each pipe evenly, she's quite an expert:thumb

I use a harmoniser now and its a good bit of kit without a doubt, worth every penny. I did use a morgan tune which works well on fours but not very well on the boxer.

Yep - easy-peasy. T-piece in the line (to both gauges), connect to one TB and run the motor. Calibrate both to the same setting by using the adjustment screw (not that they've ever needed it). Watch gauges go up and down in perfect symmetry.
