Two couples getting dirty - The sequel

Gawd Clive,
That looks very painful - much respect on riding home like that!:bow:bow

Get better soon mate!:thumb

Ela,
Thanks for the super report and pix - dunno how you do it but as always a terrific job!

Clive - OUCH!

That looks nasty indeed. Seriously - have you had it x-rayed? It looks rather like my wrist did after my off a couple of years ago. Not wishing to be a harbinger of doom (mostly because "harbinger" is quite hard to spell before the second cup of coffee), but mine turned out to be a Bennett's fracture. Worth getting fixed - so they told me - in case arthritis sets in later.

Thank you all - both riders and readers - for your nice comments. :blush

i wonder if i could / should ride this on my wife's F650????

No way, Lars! But your wife could... :augie :D

Parts of the Ridgeway and the graded lanes would be absolutely fine for GS's but there are also some erm, 'interesting' stretches on the route that made me think "I'm glad I'm not on the 1150 today"... :mmmm

And don't forget that many trails in this area are going over chalky ground - potentially desastrous when it's wet. So I'd say, there is only one way to find out - just make sure you take a few (strong) mates along... :thumb

Excellent write-up and as always a great job leading and breaking trail. I'm always amazed that you are able to take such great pictures while riding.

Thanks, Martin, but thinking about it - there is planning a route, marking the map, researching the legality of the lanes, leading the ride, taking the pictures - and then I even have to write the bl**dy report!

Rest assured that we will talk about job-sharing before I take you out the next time... :green gri

Great route choices, challenging enough to be interesting but not so challenging that (as a newbie to this stuff) I was terrified all the time!

You did really, really well, Jane - especially when you consider that you didn't have a lot of opportunities to practice this year! :thumb2

What amazes me even more is your mindset: "Ok, I came off a couple of times, lost quite a few bits of my bike, haven't eaten very well, getting tired, etc, etc - but I'm still up for doing the next lane... and the one after... and another one after that..." Fantastic! :bow

Ow! You take care, isn't it about time you lot took up a safe sport:comfort

Such as? :eyebrow

Naaa, Sheppie, all these little tumbles are just an incentive to get better and avoid coming off in future... :D

Clive's face at the end says it all!
Just to avoid confusion - the picture of Clive with the Weißbier was taken a month ago in Bavaria on our way to the Dolomites. I thought it would cheer him up and posted it instead of the :beerjug: smilie.

So, here is to you and a speedy recovery again, Clive, we'll do an extra nice ride-out for you when you are back on the bike! :thumb2

I think I have a picture or two here of people with Weißbier....... now where did I put them?:augie

Oi, you two! :nono

Just remember: we will meet again - soon... :green gri

the pot

Thanks to everyone for they,re commiseraions. A few weeks off work. :Motomartin
Another x ray next week to check it out . Registrar said that it was quite bad but luckily fracture and not a full blown break.
As MMC says have to be careful for getting arthritis in it later and not getting to much bone growing over the opening.
As you see I went for my feminin side in choice of colour
