1. It's not always easy to park the bike in that London, unless you want to start work at sparrow-fart.
2. Even on a bike London traffic makes for a slower journey than some of the trains (especially from Slough->Paddington)
3. Top boxes and panniers are very useful for storing riding kit securely when the bike is parked up.

Errrr....I do the same, leaving biking stuff in the panniers rather than walking around in armour and carrying helmet....

Why are you hanging around at Gerrards Cross taking photos of my bike:nenau

And just for your information, the reason its there is its free parking for bikes and I dont have to pay for the train travel, I love the word free

If I was going round the world I wouldn't be using a vanilla 1200 on road tyres with plastic panniers.

It's just a road bike Tom :nenau

Isn't the point of getting a bike like the GS its all round usability??

I've commuted, toured, shopped and used it for days out. I also plan to take it through the USA and do my IAM test on it.

I'll probably never ride it round the world but where does it say I have to??

I leave the hard luggage on all the time as its bloody convienient to do so for stashing my bike kit in when I need to change or its too hot to walk around in.

Mmmm use the top box for my sarnnies on a late shift!

Use the panniers for Tesco shop they hold 9 toilet roll pack you know.

I came off my 06 GS doing about 90 (after hitting diesel slick from a lasy arsed cheap farmer that probably had a rag stuffed in the spout of his tank after he lost the cap) and reckon the panniers stopped me getting my leg stuck between bike and road, now they stay on!!!!!! Also saved trashing the bike.

GSA Ally top box takes 13 bottles of wine.
