I was looking closely at my tyres today and noticed a few bits of damage. None appears particularly deep but its there . There is one part were the damage is in between the blocks of tread which I just can't get a devent pic of without taking the wheel off but here is one example of perhaps the worst of the lot . Should I be worried ? ...at the moment I'm not but by the time you lot have had your say I will no doubt become very anxious indeed....

Hi Terry
I have done about 6000km on this set so probably only about 1/3rd of the life at most. I have done some gravel off road a few times but nothing extreme.
Did you get a set free from metzeler or did you have to pay again ?
Cheers

Tired Tyre

Hi Gecko,

The damage in your picture may have been caused by a piece of glass or a sharp stone, it appears to have been flung out again. It will have only damaged the tread that will wear away with use so I wouldn't worry about it. I have simalar cuts in the tread of my tyres:gosh, but if the pressure stays in the tyre it should be OK.:)

I've had loads of holes like that in the tread and they've been fine becasue it's all within the thickness of the rubber. As someone else said, its sharp stones or glass digging in then flying out again. If I find any lefdt in I dig 'em out so that they don't continue to work they way in and thru' the carcass.
