I've removed my post on a certain other person't thread 'cos I shouldn't have posted on it...:)

However, I've been looking at sorting out some decent tubeless tyre repair kits...the ones on Ebay are very expensive and tbh, often pretty crap, so I've been making enquiries and getting kit sorted out......I need to know if there's any interest before I go any further though...

The kits would be complete and include an open ended tyre needle, the proper glue and a bunch of rat-tail type plugs......these are the sort that we've used on Moto Moroco trips successfully for several years and I think they're beter than the BMW type ones in several ways, plus they're easy to use .

The kit would come in a waterproof, fairly tough plastic tube (about 8 inches long and two inches in diameter) that you could strap or cable tie to a tube on the bike so it's always handy. (I've asked for a price on a tube with tabs on it so that would be really tidy, but have yet to get a price or sample)

I can get the needles for around £3.99 a pop (if I do a bulk order and the rest of the stuff I've either already got or have samples on the way (the tubes in particular- I've had three types sent so far but none have been strong enough for my liking)

The full kits would be around £20 plus postage.
These are the larger tubes of glue BTW......50 grammes rather than the 20 size (or 25?) that come with the bmw kits or others and that only last one or two punctures.
The rat tails are 4 inch.....ideal for tubeless bike tyres (and I've had one in a tyre on the landcruiser for the last 10,000 miles as well so they will also do for car/4x4 tyres )

Just need to know if it's worth going ahead.:nenau

parts may be available separately if people don't want the full kits:thumb2

Would the kit include a round file to clean the hole out with like below?

Yes, but the needle/reamer I've been looking at is combined.....I looked at that kit, but the handles are fixed so you can't fit them in a sensible sized tube.......The one I've asked about is a combined reamer and open eyed inserter needle with a detachable handle so it fits into a tube so it can be stashed or strapped on a bike easily.

There's a solid ally handle version and a hollow version too.......plus you can get replacement or different needles depending on use....I'm hoping they're sending me one of each to check the quality (They initially refused, 'cos loads of people ask for samples just to get a one-off freebie but I showed them the website and what we do and they said they'd send some :thumb)

I'm hoping to get the samples pretty soon...the minimum order quantity for taking it any further is pretty scary though:eek:

interested,thanks:thumb

Looks like this might fly- I'll get on it again properly tomorrow.....I've had those rat tails for quite a while and it's time to push it forwards a bit :thumb2

Just a thought, is it worth putting in 2 smaller tubes of glue rather than one big one? It's just that I know that I get punctures so infrequently that the opened tube would have dried up by the time I need to use it again. TBH I'd rather have 5 "single shot" tubes of say 10ml each, just enough in one tube for one repair.
