Tyre pressure sensor

[CPJS]

Bike, 03/'17 GS with cast wheels 29k mls. The tyre pressures are stable and correct.

The front TPS warning triangle came on and off over the course of a week and has now stopped appearing, the pressure display for the front has now gone blank.
Am I right in assuming that the wheel sensor has died? If so:
Best place/price to buy replacement.
I am about to fit new tyres, is worth doing both wheels?
Any traps to watch out for.

Options are
1: replace the battery [as above]
2: Use chinese knock offs [ebay- results vary some work some dont, do a forum search]
3: BMW around £120 each if done during a service

any new units will need recoding to the bike either by BMW or via a compatable home user device

One went on my 2015 last year so battery life is not long in them.

Looking at the item it looks like the sale is just the tyre sensor and mentions cloning the original code ,which would be difficult if this is is not working.
BTW I dont think the programmer is included in the sale.
