tyre pressure sensors

On my last three bikes , Ive had that anti puncture goo in my tyres.
On my toilet ive got these tyre pressure sensors.
Does this gumph you put in the tyre screw with the sensors ?

As far as i know the sensors are heat sensitive which in turn tells the sensor the tyre pressure , Once this stuff is spread around the inside wall of the tyre i suppose it will have coated the sensor also , Does that effect the sensor.

No best not use it with sensors could cost you a bit if you do!

The only tyre sealant I have come across is Slime - http://www.slime.com/shop/tube-sealant/

When I bought my XT660, a mate of mine with a Tiger XC said I had to buy Slime and put it in the tubes as he had done. I did a bit of reading, and the website at the time explicitly said NOT to use it in road tyres apart from at the time of repair, as the fact that it stays liquid throws out the wheel. The only comment I can see on the site now is:

"WARNING: FOR HIGH SPEED APPLICATION (OVER 65MPH/100KPH) USE ONLY AS A REPAIR. MAY CAUSE EXCESSIVE VIBRATION WHEN INSTALLED IN FRONT TIRES OR ALL FOUR TIRES".

I emailed the company and they confirmed that Slime should not be put in road tyres prior to a puncture. Needless to say, the two bottles I'd already bought are still on my shelf.

The good part is, I relayed all this information to my friend who said "Pah! I use it in my mountain bike and it's fine. It'll be OK. Put it in!". Six months later he took his Tiger back to Triumph as he wasn't happy with some noise and vibration. The verdict after two days in the workshop - the Slime in the tyres!! They cleaned it all out and the bike was sweet again.

Having said all of that, if you still want to use it, the FAQ at http://www.slime.com/category/faqs/ states:

"Is Slime TPMS safe?
Yes, Slime makes a TPMS safe formula for cars and trucks with Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS). Look for the yellow bottle and the TPMS Safe icon. Many of Slime’s Spair kits also feature TPMS Safe Sealant. If your vehicle has TPMS, try the Smart Spair or Safety Spair from Slime."

As I said , Its been in a fzx 750, xjr1300 and 1200 gs Ive never had any balance performance excessive, road ,noise, or handling issues above theseerr speeds

This bit just totally confuses me the blurb says somewhwere its in the tyre so if you do have a puncture it can possibly stop the fast deflation ,,helping you come to a controlled stop


So why would i carry it around with me and stick it in after ive had a puncture
I may as well carry a proper tyre plug etc repair kit

I got the impression it's really meant for tubed tyres where balance and vibration is not an issue, such as off-roader bikes, quads, mowers etc.

I guess with tubed road tyres, it might still be a "quick fix" to get you home in the event of a repair when vibration is not as big an issue as being stranded! I agree it's not the sort of thing you'd really want to carry around, but with tubed tyres maybe it's still quicker than getting the tube out to patch it.
