having a new tyre fitted and was wondering if the pressure sensor automatically links up to the bikes computer when the wheel is put back onto the bike .

Yes it does. Ensure they don't knock and loosen it when they do the Tyre.

You should have some stickers on the rim staying the location on the sensor as well.... the lads doing the tyres should know about this, but no harm in pointing it out anyways

Pressure sensor unit is under the valve but tyre fitters need to know they are there.

As has been said, it's best to let the tyre fitter know that the bike has the sensors, just to cover all the base's.
