metzeler web site states 2.5 and 2.9 bar - bmw manual gives three different settings - who do we beleive - i am riding solo with the metzeler web site pressures - will this lead to premature wear or pose a safety hazard - sorry to bring this up yet again - comments appreciated

I would o with the Metzler pressures. After all, the bike manual was printed when the bike was made, Metzler might have changed the tyre since then.

For example, the manual for my Fazer says 32/38 but Bridgestone now say 36/42. That's the latest up to date advice for the tyre in question so that's what I use.

The rule of thumb on all vehicles... use the owners manual as the initial guide.

On a cage, look on the drivers side door frame.

On a bike, it's in the owners manual.

NEVER use the value printed on the tire itself. What's printed on the tire is the MAXIMUM pressure allowed.

These are exactly what I use. Quite in order. (and harder tires in fact will give longer wear if anything).
