Just had to take my bike (2005 1200 GS) to NOG for a bit of TLC....the loan bike was a 2006 1200 GS fitted with Michelin Annakees. It seemed to be quite a bit quicker entering turns than my bike which I bought S/H - it was (and still is) fitted with an Annakee on the rear wheel and a D 607 on the front - both nearly new. Does anyone have an opinion on whether or not putting an Annakee on the front would improve things for me? Can anyone comment on the comparative performance of the Michelins and the Dunlops? Anyone else running a mixed set?

Thanks

Jan

PS. The 2006 bike has a redesigned sidestand - on putting my feet down at stop lines I accidentally flipped the stand down a couple of times which, of course, kills the engine. Once facing up a fairly steep hill! Fun.

The profiles of the different makes are probably different i.e. the bike does not roll into corners without an extra push. This happens to matched tyres eventually as the rear generally squares off.

Fitting a matched pair of tyres will likely improve the handling of your bike. However, you will have a part worn odd tyre kicking around. Personally, unless you think they bike is dangerous, I suggest sticking with this pair until one of the tyres wears out. Then fit a tyre to match whichever lasts the longest (most likely the front Dunlop).
