Hi , I would appreciate your recommendations for the above bike . I am currently using Dunlpo D908`s which give good performance on the mud & rocks but wear extremely quickly even with my staid performance .
Regards

Harry

What are you using it for Harry?

I had MT21's on my MkII and on the AR but I spent 70% of the time off the road. They seemed fine for road use as long as you didn't push itt too much. Great bike.

Have a look at www.crm250.com. Theres a link there for a CRM forum you want to have a poke around. I sold my AR to Paul who runs the site.

Hi Harry,

When I first got my CRM, it has Trailwings fitted & they were fine on-road but cr*p in the mud. When I started using it for greenlaning, I fitted some Bridgestone Gritty's (90/90-21 ED661 front/140/80-18 ED668 rear) that I picked up for £23 off ebay. They were a revelation & gave a load of confidence in all but the worst of conditions. The rear wore, way too quickly though... so I picked up another rear from ebay. This time it was a Michelin Enduro Comp 3 & this one has given exactly the same fantastic ride off-road, but has been much harder wearing. It's worked well in gravel, rock, grass, snow & mud &, together with the Gritty front tyre, is still working well after 6 hard days riding with around 250-300 miles/day, split about 175 miles on-road & 75 miles off-road. Road sections including motorways done at speeds up to 80mph have only just started to round off the main blocks. I'd definitely be happy with this combination again.

HTH,

Excellent choice, Paul. Clearly a man of high intelligence & utmost good taste to combine ownership of the best 2 models of motorcycle available :thumb

Thanks guys , I use the bike say 25% road , balance trails . Eunuch the link you gave works but the site doesn`t open upfor me ! . Paul , I like your combination particularly the wear rate , the Dunlop D908 on the rear has expired after 2000km . Have been looking at the Trelleborg site this evening , they look interesting .

Harry, just tried again and the site works OK for me. I'm using IE 7.0.something and it also works fine in Firefox (http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/). If you still can't get it to work try going straight to the public forum http://www.crm250.com/forum/ . If all else fails I'll add posts for you by proxy!

Sorry about the hijack, but I just had to post this up of my AR. I ran the MkII ragged for 2 years goign to the Picos a few times, all over Wales and Devon not to mention all the winter TRF fun here. When I got the AR it was pristine and I didn't have the heart to beat it as hard. Now I wished I'd kept it.
