Hi,
had the second puncture in two month.
New Heidenau K60 rear tyre + inner tube.
(bike is an xcountry)
First puncture was caused by a 1mm wire, this time its a 3mm drill bit.
The first puncture was plugged in a shop.
Should I get a secon fix:help?
Is it a bit excessive to buy a new tyre, everytime I get a puncture?
I read all these scare stories about not fixing a bike tyre.
My CS had a 'tiptop' tubeless repair kit included from the ...werke.
Thanx

The last Tourance I had on mine had five or six plugs in it, I wore it down to the last.

There must be some mix up because you can't plug a tubed tyre and it wod be danderous To try risk of blow out jjh

no it's a tubeless tyre, guess one needs a tube for an enduro + spoked wheel.
the ..werke tourances had inner tubes as well.
the plug was put in by a Galway bike shop, along with a new tube.
more wonders.
thanx

I don't think repairing a tube or tyre, be it patch or plug, is dangerous if done properly. Buying a new tyre is a bit over the top if it's plugged.

My 2¢

Sorry I'll make myself clear. As far as I know-and back in the 80's I mended about 10 punctures a day for 4 years- you cannot use a plug to mend a puncture in a tube. If there is a tube present I would remove it and check tube and tyre for damage and forgein objects. Idealy one would replace the tube but we dont live in a ideal world and tubes get patched and reinserted in to the tyre all the time. This is ok provided that the damage to the tube is small ie 1 small clean hole. I would not attempt a repair whare there is a rip or tear or obious weakening of the 'rubber'. I cannot comment on what a shop done save to say that I have never done or seen a conbination of a plug and a patch together. JJH

new plu and new tube fitted.
the whole was a bit too big for a patch
hope this is it for a while.
