Hi all i have a 2018 adventure and the dash is saying front tyre pressure monitoring system has failed and won't give a reading and puts a error message on the dash. Could anyone please help me if I need a new sensor or is it a battery in the sensor. Could someone also please tell me how to reconnect it to the system. Any advice would be greatly appreciated thank you

I had a sensor fail and it needed a new sensor and pairing. I had a warranty so BMW did it which was good as it was almost £300 from them!

If the sensor has gone then it’s tyre off, sensor swap and then you have to pair the new sensor to the bike.

Change it with one from Amazon when you change the tyre

Thank you for the response. I have noticed that when the tyre is cold it gives a reading but when it warms up the reading dissappears and I get the warning to pull over and check the pressure.

The BMW sensor is made by Schrader
The equivalent is the Schrader 3141m
About £35 from Autodoc

On a cast wheel it bolts direct to the rum. On spoke wheels it's part of the valve assembly

That’s what mine did. Order a new sensor and then either swap it when you change the tyre or have someone pop the tyre and switch it for you. You’ll need a machine to code it to the bike I believe.

Usually (always for me so far (, so long as one sensor is healthy you can swap the failed one and the bike will pick it up after a few miles

If you change both sensors at once you'll need to code it
