Tyres compatible with Mudsling on a GSA

I'll soon find out :-) In fairness the garage road tested the bike and did not report any problem. Mees picking her up tomorrow so will see whats what.

Please keep me posted. I'm getting my GSA next week, and they've offered to swap tyres FOC before I take delivery, so I need to decide quickly!:D

I had no problems with Avon Trailriders on my GSA with mudsling fitted, and will be going back to them next. I've tried most tyres now and no other comes close as an all rounder.

Nutty
I think that it depends how you fit the mudsling, after all it's only cable ties so tolerances are quite generous.
I love the avons after having the anakees, world of difference.
Probably worth asking the dealer to fit both as mentioned in a post above.
Hope it works out for your new bike.

Just to note my factory lowered MU 2016 GSA was getting serviced today and new Avon Trailriders fitted. I gave the dealer the heads up that there may be a problem as I have a mudsling fitted. Just taken a call from the dealer to say the rear fitted without problem clearance wise. The Mudsling is the same one that I had fitted to my MU WC 2013 GS.

You found a Motorrad dealership that will fit Avons for you...?

Had my Avons on for 750 miles now - on centre stand it does rub the mudsling.

All fine when off centre stand - no issues / no damage to mudsling.

This is on a 2015 GSA - White (if thats relevant)

The chaps at EK fitted them but i supplied them. Interestingly the dealer told me that they had supplied and fitted a set to a customers bike last week.

Just to confirm the Avon's fit fine no rubbing. I would say that there is 1/2 3/4 inch space at narrowest between tyre and Mudsling. As always feels like a new bike when new boots go on. Hope to do a wee run down to the Isle of Whithorn tomorrow (250 mile round trip) :-)

Yep, mine fitted on Monday by North Oxford BMW and fit with the mudsling no rubbing (2016 GSA). I've got a couple of hundred miles under them and they seem VERY good. I'm taking some pictures of there wear over time, so will create a new thread when I have some un-scientific thoughts and pictures as the wear goes on. So far they are quiet and confidence inspiring - best I've had yet - still early days though. (Other tires I have had on my GSA - 2014 and now 2016 are Anakee 3, TKC 70, Michelin PR4)

Standard Tourance are also great.

Just bought K60`s for mine so have to get them fitted now. BMW say no way will they touch them !:D

Said they were not "certified" for the bike. Checked with Heidenau and got an email back saying yup, they are.

Probly not what the OP are looking for anyway mind.

I am interested to hear what sort of mileage people are getting out of the Heidenau K60 and are the grip levels ok.

I`m buying on the back of 30,000km usage reviews and the fact that most that fit them love them.

Tyres & Mudsling

Not really relevant as you want off road, but my 01s do not fit with mudsling, which is now slung.

That seems strange as my 16 GSA is fitted with Roadtec )01's and a mudsling and there is no contact whatsoever, yours may need adjusting a little on the ties. The 01's are very good in comparison to Anikees 3 and far superior in the wet, as for mileage no idea but I bet they would be shite off road..........

Just a heads up on the tyre clearance issue. Have just changed from Annakee 3s to Metzeler Tourance Nexts on my 14 GSA LC and now have slight rubbing on the Mudsling, so it's coming off. I might refit it when the tyre wears a little. Surprised as not previoudly heard of this with Nexts. Anyone had this? Any tips - anyone tried trimming?
