Anyone and experience of conti trail attack 2 on 1200GSWC, as current Michelin Anakee 3 are garbage, rear worn out and squared of at 4800, front not much better, plus noisy as hell.

Yes, they grip OK in the dry, but not so well in the wet. Their handling is pretty good. I wore them out in about 4500 miles, which is pretty good for me, as I frequently get less than 4000 miles out of my rear tyres.

The Conti's are a great match for this bike, no where near as noisy as the ANK's & very predictable in wet & dry corners. A big traillie will always kill its rear tyre if given the beans regularly but, so far the conti's are all good for me - possible (better alternative) would be the Michelin road pilot 4's (had them on my 1150) but these are not 90 / 10 semi of roaders
hope this helps

My Anakee is down to the canvas after 4800 miles.

So, I'll be following this thread for a day or two.

Conti T/A 2 lasted 6k on my GSA LC which is about 1k more than they lasted on my Twin Cam, quiet, predictable and plenty of grip in rain or shine, a fresh pair have just been fitted to my GSA :thumby:

Ordered Metzeler tourance "NEXT" had them on my previous GS LC and Twin cam GSA. For me brilliant all round performance and good wear.:thumb2
Anakees3 are crap and are just about done after 4500 miles on my GSA-LC.

My tourance next has just done 6500 on the rear, previous Annakee 3 did only 4500

I fitted the Conti TA2 only a few hundred miles ago on my GSA LC and they feel great so far, ive had Tourance, Tourance next and the Annakees on my last 2 GSA and these are by far my favourites.

Doing a trip to the Somme next weekend so will get a better idea but liking them so far and so much quieter.

What are they like on the nadgery goat tracks we rode in Wales?

You call those goat tracks? They were main roads :D
Fine, no issues at all, wet or dry weather, broken surface or smooth I have no complaints.

Good to know. I'll see what price I can get a pair for.:thumb

Just put a pair of TKC 70's on my Stelvio.

Only done 150mls on a mixture of A's B's and Gravely back roads. Ridden 50 mls on a damp road but nothing in the rain yet.

First impressions are very favourable.

They Humm slightly but nothing annoying, in fact very quite on the move.

Turn in very nicely, and track a line inch perfect on fast bends. Just a touch and I mean a touch of understeer on quick tight bends.

On the back roads in North Yorks Moors I purposely road through all the gravel I came across, and they where very confidence inspiring.

Very stable on changing road surfaces.

Rode the 56 mls back home from our caravan on very damp roads and they felt very surefooted.

If these tyres are as good in the rain as they are at everything else....They will be my new tyre of choice...:thumb2.

Steve

£167 the pair delivered....Oponeo ?

What he said! TKC70 on my LC. Superb all round tyre with trail ability.

Sadly my experience of TKC70 on my 2014 GSA LC is very different. No particular problems up to 60 mph, but above that the very light feeling front starts to weave whenever you hit an imperfection in the road or change lanes on a dual carriageway. It's better having dropped the front tyre pressure to 33 psi, but it's not right. 1000 miles in and I'm toying with e-mailing Continental; the problem of the weaving tyre and bars on the LC is pretty well documented on Adv Rider as well as here.

I put 8000 miles on Annakee 3s and they were far better, but still not great. Not sure whether to change now or not, but it'll be PR4s next.

I had read that some folks were experiencing this.

Had mine upto 110... absolutely rock solid.

I did many fast miles without any concern whatsoever with the Annakee 3s, but much above the legal limit and the TKC70s don't feel at all planted on the road. Granted, they're not a high speed tyre, but when they don't fill you with confidence at motorway speeds you've got to wonder...!

Put on a set of these tkc 70 on my 12 twin cam
Ran some miles on them on the weekend past (400 ish ),a mix of wet (very wet) dry ,fast duel, A , b n some goat track

By comparison to the tourance , tourance exp , anakee
Very very good stable tyre with excellent directional stability.
Remains to be seen how they will last:thumb2

I recently went from Anakee 3's to PR4's and it feels like I've just got a new improved version of my previous bike! :tarka

Had conti trails attack on twin cam and loved them, so ordered a pair for WC GS, thanks for all your feedback, I will let you know how I go on.
