Tyres mixing and matching

I have a brand new Metzeler RoadTec 01 rear tyre to go on.
But i will also need to replace the front tyre soon to.
I don't want to use a RoadTec 01 on the front again as i think there to soft in the middle.
So would fitting another make of metzeler be ok or even another brand to the front be ok.
This is on my Honda Varadero XL1000.

Did that because of a puncture the day before a two up 2000 mile Europe trip on my Vara.
No issues at all.
