Pissed off with my local garage after he tore the valve out three times  while fitting my front tyre and pinching the tube and giving me a puncture another time. I can certainly change my own tyres but couldn't be arsed any more, so now it's back to on-line suppliers.

So where do you get yours? The best price I've found so far is National Tyres, Co Durham 08451805517 for a K112 rear including carriage.

Easy to change your own but its getting rid of the old ones that's a problem. I have a good collection in my chickens coop for the birds to sit on.

http://www.tyreleader.co.uk/ are worth taking a look at.

A couple of my neighbours have my old tyres hung off trees for their kids to swing on. The rest I take down the council tip in the car, one at a time. It's what you pay your rates for.

As it happens I do find it difficult to get the tyre to seat properly in the rim, with the guide line running parallel with the edge of the rim; several times I have had to take it to a garage to seat it properly, they seldom manage it at the first attempt. Oh, and I do get the rim clean and smooth first.

Just ordered tyres from Tyreleader - pain free, emails with transit details and delivery in four days over Bank Holiday Weekend - plus the Metzeler Unicross was £33 for a 21" front. Couldn't fault them

not having much success with Oponeo.....

Ordered a pair on may 14th, 1 arrived on May 19th, the other is apparently "on it's way" but that's a after 4 phone call's - luckily i anticipated ordering on line would be a pain in the arse after similar issues with Mytyres so I've ordered them well in advance of needing them.

I've used Pneus online. Service and prices always very good but if the tyres I want are available at Strathearn tyres in Crief I normally will ride there for ride in ride out supply and fit service. A bit fo a trek though from north Wales :D

I have used Openeo a couple of times this year, once for a pair of Metzeler Enduro 1 and 2's which were the cheapest place I could get them, and once for a Heidenau k64 something or other front for my Enfield Bullet. Both orders were the best price, and they delivered what they said they would, when they would. So far, am very happy with them.

Try using hair conditioner as lube when fitting the tyre. It's the best of the many things I've tried.

I fit and balance all my own tyres after witnessing many cock ups from the 'experts'.

I have never found it necessary to balance my front or rear wheel after a tyre change, I take care to line the dot on the tyre with the tyre valve... and that's all. Never had any trouble at any speed up to an indicated 125.

Having said that, when I had a front tyre fitted by the local garage with the dot about six to eight inches away from the valve the vibration was such that I didn't dare take it over sixty mph.

Apart from specific tyre lube! I have previously tried alls sorts, washing up liquid, shampoo, spit, wd40 etc etc etc - best of all was, amazingly, tyre lube. I have no idea why you wouldn't use it - its available online everywhere and is pennies. A tub will last you out (if you are standard tosser age, that is). I have a 1/2 litre of black lube (so it doesn't marr/show on the new rubber) have changed maybe a dozen tyres, barely made a dent in it.

Just sayin........

But does it make your hair silky and shiny? :D

Some feedback for you...
I ordered a pair of K112 Contis plus a tube for a total of £158, I got a pair to save carriage, it's the same for two as it is for one. It will be delivered to my local garage (run by a bikermate) where I will have left my bare wheel.

Anyway- one K112 was £69, from National Bike Tyres, Co. Durham, tel. 0845 1805517

Thanks everybody. :beerjug:

National bike tyres are only an hour round trip for me so I've always used them to supply and fit. Never had a problem - nice chap as well.
