Stick I don't know what the situation dictated to change but I hope you will be happy with your new bike ! I would have never traded T-L & shaft for 30 hp more otherwise I would have gone to a S1000XR long time ago a bike that is faster and quicker steering than the new MS-V4 and probably a little beter on mpg too...I wait for the new 1300GS that will be lighter and hopefully have 150hp/nm minimum and maybe even 17" wheels in M or XR version...:thumby:
Hope you come back Stick as I always enjoyed your posts :thumb2

Thanks , the change was due to situation and the fact the V4 is a great bike . I took the XR out and found it not to my taste as it was all or nothing and a bit vibey . I get the bike serviced tomorrow , full Evo map , to run the full system , then I can , as they say , rock and roll , and this bike does exactly that . Miss the Gs and its still my best bike just fancied dipping my foot in a different pool for a few years before I get to old .
Still checking the 1250 forum as still a die hard Gs fan

Then it is all good my friend :thumb2 Enjoy the new bike and give us a real world write-up as soon as you can tell the difference...The XR tempted me for a while but the explosive top end as fun as it is did not steer me away from the boxer,T-L and driveshaft...Especially since the 1250 came out which feels pretty strong all the way up to 8000rpm...I'm holding off for the new R1300/1400 boxers and see which will be the one for me !
Good luck with your new bride !
