Just getting my R100GS ready for a trip at the end of the month and need to replace the nearly finished Tourances which have been on for a few years now. Just wondering what the current preferred fitting is? 99% tarmac these days.
I’ve had them on other bikes and they are OK.Heidenaus K60 M&S
and you then know that you have the freedom of choice.
On my G/S PD i have the TKC 80s and on my G/S i have the Pirelli scorpion , both are ok for me but the scorpion seems to be a much lower profile which makes a difference to the cruising RPMKaroo Street on mine. Very secure but a bit noisy, like any blocky tread. They've lasted well and I have Pirelli Scorpion ready to replace the rear when it finally goes bald.
How do you rate the Mitas offerings? E07 perhaps?I’d fit continental tkc70,
Not overly pricey for a top brand tyre.
To carcass is the same as a road attack so not too stiff, good grip wet/dry,easy to get some heat into.
The heidenau is an agricultural thing ,very stiff with a hard compound,
Ok if your travelling through Morocco or the like, scary if your in a cooler climate.
Up till the popularity of “adventure bikes” the k60 was cheap.
Nowadays they are a similar price as a top branded tyre.
Eastern European tyre with a U.K. price tag
I’ve never used any road oriented tyres from mitas so cannot really offer an opinion. How do you rate the Mitas offerings? E07 perhaps?
Cruising revs doesn't affect me, I don't go thast fast!
