..... or pitch you into the hedge. Good luck. Your arse must be sore if you've just done 3000kms. Take a break before you go scratchin'

Got about 4,000 on my Dunlop 607's and they seem to resist squaring off far better than my previous Tourances; which feel ghastly when even slightly flat.

I asked my local tyre agent about my squared off tyres. He said they were still legal, and was down to the way I ride. This is bollox as its actually down to a lot of motorway miles.

He also warned me that if I were to start doing hard & fast cornering in the twisties with squared off tyres, it could be dangerous and flip me off. Now that sounds like more bollocks to me too, but I just don't know...

Thoughts?

Hmmm? :mmmm I have a tendency to agree. 'Bollocks'

I just measured the wear on my TKC's. Depending which knobble you measure. I have 2mm in the middle and 12mm at the outer edge. Most of the milage is done in town '30 or less' but I like to do the twisties too 'and it does lean over a treat' :D

Of course you feel the sholder as you start to lean over. But if you keep it going and power it through and out of the bend it aint never going to flip you into the bushes :nenau

It'll feel different from a newer tyre, but that's because it is, it's got less tread in the middle and therefore it's a different shape. When you put a new one on it'll feel different again, and it will because you've been used to the flat bit in the middle :nenau

Is it me?? Why are we all so bemused when we get a flat spot after a couple of thousand miles of use? Just ride the thing, relax and enjoy the experiance. You'll get to love it :thumb

To me it's the new tyres that feel strange. They flatten off at about 2000 miles and then I do another 8-10'000 miles before changing the thing for a new one.

With 10'000 on my current rear TKC and 2mm of tread left I might get another 1500 before I'm forced to change it. :augie

Ride safe and enjoy :D:cool::D:cool::D:cool::D:cool:

just stop worrying about it & ride 'til the tyres are worn out, then buy a new set.

unless you're minted of course, then just put a new set on every 500 miles.

go round and round a few round abouts a time or two,then at least you will get one side of the tyre sorted:D..then nip over to france and get the other side sorted,:D..then, by the time you get home you will need a new'un anyway,
