Tyres that *look* like a knobbly but perform like a road tyre...

See now they look the part! Although i've never had Pirellis before... Always had Michelin for my onroad bikes and Maxxis tyres for my offroad bikes.

Standard fitment fella. Every year when it's time for new tyres I have a look at what else is on the market to replace them with ..... I buy these again every time!

* Chojin sounds like a slant anyway, so you'll be away at the laces.

Nice use of racism. I bet you was up all night thinking of that one... Sorry, I'm still holding my sides... oh, my ribs are hurting... I can't breath...
Grow up!

TKC70's don't last long if you use them to their maximum on road, I only got 3k mile out of the rear!

I also think GS's look "the part" with knobblies on, and when I embark on a trip that will take in a high percentage of trails, I'll fit something appropriate (in efficacy and aesthetic terms), but for everything else, tyres like the currently-fitted Tourances make more sense, if not looking quite off-roady enough.

Heidenau Scout K60? Some models have a continuous tread on the outer circumference - probably work better on-road that TKC80 etc?

I understand you want a certain look, but you will lose grip, braking efficiency and tyre life. For me, it's not the right choice if you don't go off road. Fully road based tyres for me, as the furthest I go off road is Waitrose car park

Don't do off road and just replaced Pilot Road 4's Trail front, GT rear, with Roadtec01's, and did 800 mile weekend to north Scotland in rain and shine. Handling was superb on superb twisty roads in all conditions. I have had 4 sets of PR4's on 2 LC's as my favourite choice of road tyre however Roadtecs are even better.

Don't know how long they will last but don't really care. Do 5.5Kper year on one set of PR4's. Can't see the Roadtecs being any less.

To give that "look" but retain best traction why not buy a dark purple indelible pen and draw a few squares on, fix the pen onto bike with some string for emergency touch up when leaving in car parks - jobs a goodun!
