Tyres - Vibration on turning.

I am looking for some advice on Handling; I currently get a slight vibration through the handlebars when tipping my bike into a corner. While upright I don’t feel any vibration at all. This appears to be more predominant on left hand turns than right but is present on both. I don’t believe that this is affecting the handling as I have suffered no loss of grip at any point through a bend even when I am in a tight turn. There is a loss of feel in the bend which is a little disconcerting.
I have checked the wear on the tyres, there is slight squaring (and I mean slight) due to the 5000 miles of commuting but other than that wear is consistent across both tyres. I was hoping to get more than K5 Miles out of the first set, I have heard of guys getting in excess of K9 Miles.
I am not sure if anyone has experienced anything similar, if so it would be good to hear from you.

9k is not normal mileage to get, I think you'll find not much over 5-6k is the norm for a rear.

Have a look at the blocks of the front tyre, do you notice slight uneven wear on one edge of the block? This is a common cause of vibes when turning on a worn front.

That would be my guess also.

Look at the pictures on this thread. they are not Anakees, but does your tread wear look similar.

Jack the rear up to near, or on, max preload. Go one notch less than standard preload on the front and stick some decent road rubber on. You won't recognise the bike

I had the same thing this year on my round Europe trip, Conti Trail Attacks, great when new, bloody awful when worn

Vibration in corners, uneven wear, vagueness when leaning over, low speed wobble from the front in town.

My mate had the vibration as well from his Anakee 2's.

I did 10000kms, he did 8k and when finished both sets went in the bin!

The Contis were ok until about 6k, I would throw them out after that.

We both changed to Tourance EXP's and so far, so good

I don't care what milage the old ones did, I want grip above all

Tyre rumble

I always found the tyres rumbled at slow speeds on corners - that was when I had Touraces and the tread was pretty deep. However they were fine otherwise; my new bike was fitted with Bridgestones and they have a less pronounced tread and no rumble - but somehow I felt safer in the wet/mud etc with the Touraces.

Tyre Rumble

Not unusual, a little more prevalent on Conti Trail Attacks in their latter stages but also present on Bridgestones after 6k.

My last set of Trail Attacks did 12k before a rear puncture meant replacement, no loss of grip, just tipped into corners a bit due to squaring off, but nothing to put you off! Excellent tyres, 2 more sets in stock, ready!
