Hey if your road attacks have squared off, May I suggest that you change you forum name from nutter to Wooosss. Cos if you ride your bike like i do then, you will find that they are a good tyre with the ability to inspire confidence and make you push the bike to the limits, But then you do have a 1200!!

Squared off as the M5,M6,M74 doesn't have a lot of hair pin bends on them and as Scotland has the best roads to ride on in the UK and it's a long way from my home I can't do a lot about it.onyack

Anyway, went for the safe choice in the end, 2 new tourances fitted and the bike feels great again. Thanks for all the comments. Knew I could count on you lot.

Got the new boots on yesterday. Fantastic!

Haven't had a chance to clock up many miles yet but well impressed so far. Mind you - it could just be the contrast with the knackered old BattleWings!

If anyone wants a recommended fitter in Worcestershire I've found a great guy just north of the city. Knew what he was talking about, does nothing but bike tyres and competitively priced as well!

I'm replacing my tyres this week as well. The bike had Dunlop 607's on new when I brought it. 9000 miles later and there is still life in them. I reckon another 1500-2000 easy, but I doubt the MOT man will think the same. It's no problem though, I will keep these as spare incase I need them again.

Much of these miles was touring, with a lot of luggage, and no frequent check of pressures . A couple of thousand miles of autobarn and a lot a motorway miles too. I'm torn between another set of 607's and the BT 020's. I haevn't ridden a GS with any other make of tyres other than the Dunlop's, but found them to be excellent. I don't ride especially hard, but even so, have never lacked confidence in them, always plenty of grip for me. I might as well stick with what I know. .

tourances good tyres, great in fact, but IMHO not the best for the bike. simple rule I follow...when on the road use a road tyre! Dual purpose are a compromise.

I currently run road attacks and they are very good indeed across the board, and am slipping on some bridgy 02's soon, so can compare - I hear they are excellent.

I'd always say to folk keep trying new tyres out, you don't know 'till you try 'um!

Trail tyres, lacking on road especially when you're pressing on a bit, and rubbish if you encounter a bit of mud off road.

I like a tyre that grips predictably. Plus one that grips well in the wet and allows you to lean the bike all the way over in the dry and lasts well. So far the Tourance ticks all the boxes. The Anakee does all except wear rate. The Battlewing does **** all!!!
