can anyone reccommend a good set of tyres for a 100 GS airhead that suits the bike?.
I see that some of the old tyres are not available in the correct speed rateings anymore , The bike will be mostly road used but looking for a trail tyre for the odd green lane etc..

I am very impressed with the Heidenau K60 on the road in dry and wet. I think it is rated 50/50 on/off road.

It is "T" rated so to 118mph: which should be good enough for your GS and if not I want to know whats in your engine :D

I get them from moto-tyres.co.uk next day delivery all in for around £100 the pair

Keep out of the mud on the K60s  Put me on my arse too many times, changed to full knobbies for off road. Good on road but look to have a short life. I am using Pirelli Scorpions on my GSPD, good performing tyre on and off road (no mud) but don't look to be long lasting. I will go for Tourances next.

Thanks for all the feedback, been riding 11s 1150 and 12s all on tourances or the new trail attack conti s but had no idea for the 21" fitments and the smaller rear tyres,:D

i have conti,s trail attack fitting on my 100gs and they work well and at a good price to £85 for the rear plus p&p. and speed rated up to 130mhp

Metzler enduro 3/s are my favourites, they were designed for the bike. But not cheap.

I'm running Heidenau K60's at the minute. On my third rear but first front. rears struggle for 4k and obviously 12k for the front. I find them ok but they don't grip as well as the Enduro 3's

I am running the metzler enduros on my r80gs...they look the dogs but as Rob says they arent cheap

All the above mentioned will work fine with the 21" front and the smaller than 11**/1200 rears.

TKC's work well, both on and off road. We get some very good milages out of them too. Easily as good as the road biased tyres.

I had TA's on my 100GS which worked well IMO.

The new owner put on TKC's and complained about the handling :blast

It wasn't the bike or the tyres he needed to worry about :augie

I would love to put Endo 3s on, its still on its first pair since 1988 and 6k miles only.
Checked and can only get T rated and not H which is recommended?. Would these be ok,?:nenau
