Tyres for a r1250 rt
I’ve have road pilot 5 and 6 and I don’t really like them in wet weather
Advice on which make would you owners advice not really too concerned on price

Conti Road Attack are excellent in the wet, I've had 3s and now on 4s

queue every tyre brand being recommended like every other request for "tyres"

my recommendation is to contact your favoured tyre shop and see what is in stock if you need them now. I will need new tyres before going to Spain and on seeking a quote from Protyre's website to get a ball park price I have found the options limited in my sizes to find a matched pair.

Conti's were one of the ones out of stock on the front. I like the Dunlops the bike came with but they are one of the dearest options, so of course in stock.

No you haven't, you've had Road 5s and Road 6s,just like Joan Armatrading Michelin dropped the Pilot.

I never liked road 5s, just felt weird tipping in, but wet grip seemed OK.

Preferred Road Attack 3's I had before and Roadtec 01's I had after, about to fit Roadtec 02 rear as the front is still looking good enough for a couple thou more.

Conti Road Attack. Its been said.
Had Michelin Road 6. They are very good, but to me, not as stuck to the road as Conti.

I had Roadtecs 01 on my K1600 & was going to put them on my RT but under advice from my tyre guy I went for Bridgestone T33s.
5k in & they are great with no signs of shouldering yet & most of my miles are on motorways.

If you put most people from this site on a bike without knowing what tyres are on it, then did the same 3 times more, having changed to 3 other good brands, most people wouldn’t be able to tell the difference.

There are no bad tyres from mainstream brands any more.

Dunlop RoadSmart 4 GT, you cannot go wrong for the RT. Excellent in the rain and all weathers with good mileage range. I used to have Metzeler before but found the Dunlop to be more sure footed in the wet.

My bike's in to get the front tyre changed today pending a forthcoming trip, slightly frustrating I reckon there's a good 1,000 miles left on the old one but I'd rather have it done before I go.
Looking through my receipts I reckon to get around 7,500 miles out of a front, no idea whether this is good, bad or average.

Edit: That's on a TC 1200GSA, not an RT, apologies.

Metzeler Tourances BTW, these are what the bike came with, I tried Michelin Road Pilot but didn't like them at all so I'm back to the tried and tested.

Just booked a pair of Pirelli Scorpion Trail 2 for my 1200 Tiger.

Why - they're on offer.

They will feel the same as any other decent tyre.

My riding finesse is not such that I can tell.
