Hi,

I have bought a Zumo 660 to fit to my F800GS, but the u-bolt supplied is too small in diameter and will only fit the bars close to the grips where they taper in. I want to mount the unit in the middle of the bars where they are 1.1/8" in diameter, but cannot find a suitable u bolt from anywhere. I don't want to buy a whole new gps mount as the garmin already comes with RAM brackets etc.

Has anyone else had the same problem?

Thanks,

Matty.

Yes, you should slap yourself in the forehead! :) if I do that, the u-bolt is not long enough to engage the nuts - fatter bars are fatter in all 360degrees after all! :comfort

Besides, stainless bolts are a might hard to bend at the best of times without a decent workshop.

Handlebars 28mm tapering to 25 mm :nenau then get RAM-B-231Z as it has 1" and 1.25" u-bolts in the kit and shim, so covers 3/4" to 1.25" the elongated slots in cast u-bolt bracket can take max 1.25" only.

I went down to Halfrauds and bought the smallest exhaust clamp I could find - junked the pressed steel bit and just used the U bolt and nuts... nicely passivated so no rust, yet still bendable...:aidan

G

I did the same - went to a motorfactors and got an enhaust clamp
I needed to enlarge the holes in the mount, but apart from that it's been sweet!
