u-Tube download?

I would like to dowmload a clip from u-tube to use as a signature. Can it be done?
If the file is to big can part of the video be cropped?

I was not thinking of a link but a permanent video once your username comes up so it can be seen in action

Not sure if the BHT has a policy on autoplaying videos but most will find it an absolute pain in the ar$e having a the same auld video playing every time they open a post.

ADV Rider don't allow autoplaying embedded videos (and rightly so)
