Have read a couple of threads about the UJ's failing in the drive shaft, just wondering if anyone has replaced just the UJ's rather than the complete shaft?

Depending on what bike you're talking about, and which uj you mean, the some of them are changeable while others have half the uj welded on to the shaft.

There you go,clear as mud:thumb2

A U/J should cost less than a tenner. Plus some don't use a U/J, they use a hoske joint.

But as vern has said, some you can, some you can't.

Hope that's made things clearer than verns post. :D

Starting to get clearer, have re-built car prop shafts in the dim and distant past, even when the UJ's were supposedly fixed for life, so was really wondering if anyone had looked at this as an option rather than running to the BMW parts counter clutching a very large wad of beer tokens
