The 1030 and 1031 control units are identical. The 1031 uses OEM connectors instead of being a tap in, as was the 1030. The 1031 interrupts the left injector lead. Depress the wire bail on the injector connector and unplug the lead from the injector. Install the 1031 connectors to the injector and the bikes wiring harness. Connect the ground to the ground screw on the bottom of the left throttle body. The base setup is the same as the 1030 and are in the instructions - the first post in the BMW forum.
Your bike should have an O2 sensor. It should be in the pre muffler, right side, near where the headpipe junction is. It has 4 wires in black conduit. The wire colors are 2 whites, a black and a grey. It has a large connector with a threaded lock. The connector should be cable tied to the right steering head frame brace under the tank.
