Personal UK only breakdown cover coming up for renewal, I have use of a 2021 car and a 2017 camper van, and also my own 2008 motorcycle, however I am looking at AA, RAC and Green flag, gathering info on each....seems the AA and RAC do not cover vehicles over 16 years of age.
Currently with RAC on Bennetts Bike insurance as an add-on, also due for renewal.
On AA personal cover for car and camper van only.
Looking to change to all 3 on UK personal cover only, when I am out in/on either.
My question is who do you use, when out on your old 2008 or older bike as a reliable breakdown agent that covers your bike and yourself?

I'm not directly answering your post but may I suggest you try My Breakdown Cover as look around the offers.

My bike has one more year of BMW cover but my RAC cover on a 7 year old range rover sport has just increased by 50% so I am moving.

I have had Green Flag cover before and had a pleasant enough recovery experience.

Like insurance these are services I never want to need. Once I have paid for lowest cover, its too late to find out their service is shite.

even just for UK cover, the answer is probably the same as given in this thread for an older vehicle i.e. the Nationwide Flexplus account with included breakdown cover, with the added bonus of covering you to Europe if you decide to go.

Thank you for your reply, I did check out some on ukGSer search, seen flexiplus, I have No interest in European travel. Do I need to open a Nationwide bank account first? .

yes, and pay the £18 a month fee, but still probably less than AA or RAC

Thanks guys, Wessie and Big-G, great advice from both, Gone with Autoaid, much cheaper and all the bells n whistles for what I need....signed up for a year, hopefully never need them.
Thanks again. HXH. aka Graeme

p.s. Wessie my bank is about to be taken over by Nationwide, will check again next year.....ta.

Interesting, The AA just this minute called me, So sorry to hear I'm not renewing with them, said they could have given me a renewal price of £60.00 for 1 year breakdown cover. :blagblah
I told them they should have mentioned this instead of sending a renewal price letter for £101.94 for 1 year, up from last year at £85.00. seems they also cover over 16 year old bikes.
He did sound sad on the telephone. awww shame........moving on :augie

Broke down GlenCoe 7am Sunday heading home to Wrexham and they got me collected and back by 4.30pm with hour wait then another hour waiting for the next driver but still no complaints

I have RAC, I have a ""me"" policy, gives breakdown cover to any car / bike i'm travelling in / on

Nothing specified about age of vehicle

I was very unhappy with the RAC and looked at a survey of customer satisfaction and ended up with Britannia. Personal cover, so any and all vehicles. A bit more expensive than you can haggle the others down to, but after two RAC recoveries that took 6 and 8 hours of waiting (including 3 hours on a motorway hard shoulder in snow), I decided service was worth paying a bit more for.

I'm with AA (been for more than a decade). They do cover older vehicles (some caveats).
They do cover everything you are traveling in.

Had to use them a few times over the years, can't fault them.

get a UK Cover quote from Moneysupermarket. You can get Britannia cover at a much cheaper price. Sadly they have stopped offering the Euro cover add on. Not a problem for me, as they keep renewing my policy at a reasonable rate so I have Euro cover on a named vehicle and personal cover on any vehicle in the UK, less than £50.

As a quirk, LV do not have an age limit on the cover in the UK but the Moneysupermarket quote engine does so will not let you have the named vehicle over 16 years. As it is personal cover you are buying, you could put any eligible vehicle in the quote form e.g. one owned by a family member and just use the personal cover on your old bangers.
