Later in the year (May) I will be delivering the GS to it's (my) new home in Denmark (Ebeltoft) and I have the option of either using the DFDS ferry from Harwich to Esbjerg and then a 2 hour run home (done that) or going over to France, Begium and heading north from there for 2 or 3 days.

It is probably not the most exciting or challenging of areas however if anyone has any interesting routes or roads in that general direction I may cobble together a short trip off the motorways.

I have done both routes several times (by car)

The drive is boring. Motorway through Belgium, Netherlands and then northern Germany. Zzzzzzzzzzzzz........

The ferry is fun. It is quite a long trip and has a real party atmosphere on board. Do beware of [sometimes not so] young ladies who take an interest in you. Your luck isn't in, they are "ladies of negotiable affection" on board to provide a service to the many truckers.

Mike - take note that BMF and MAG membership will get you 30% off the ferry if your work isn't paying ? And do look up Sander once you're settled - he IS a top bloke and your one stop shop to GSing Denmark and those off road tours in Sweden / Finland. Tell him you won't have a Fireblade in tow on the dirt roads - he'll know what you mean ;)

UK-Denmark

Better not let SWMBO see that comment Mike otherwise I will be sent the long way around!.....which ferry was it by the way?

I have already made contact with Sander and you are right, Top bloke. He has a 'Left hooker' light for the GS and is based north of me so a great excuse for a ride up towards Skagen in the north.

Hoping to register the GS next year (when I have a job) so that only gives me 3 monthes riding in Dk this summer. The "registration tax" is more in Dk than I would get if I sold the GS in UK but I have had this one for 5 years and know all it's foibles.

There is a great bike club here in Ebeltoft with a club house in the forest and 2 minutes from the ferry terminal to Sjaeland (Copenhagen) so if anyone is passing through give me a shout from March on.
