UK/US Spec

Got a chum on US service here in UK who is looking at buying a GS here and then shipping it back to US when tour ended. Does anyone know if the UK spec is the same as the US spec (headlights notwithstanding as they drive on the wrong side of the road) and thus be easy to import/licence in teh states?

Tell him not to bother. There are so many changes that would be required to obtain US DOT approval that it's uneconomic.
