UKGSer’s Wobble Box Weekender - October 2026

I shan't go to Dent .... and the Kettlewell site is a cracker but cant take caravans because they can't get in to the site. I think Udders might have a problem with his unit?

:beerjug:
Correct.
But I won’t be in attendance anyway because the dates don’t work for me.
If this meet up is a success I’m sure there will be others in the years to come. :thumb2

Ditto, I don't get it, they have a wobbybox or mobile home, and then complain the distance is too far... :jes
I’m guessing those that are still working may not be able to get enough time off to get somewhere and back home within certain time constraints?

That's a very good point. It's been raised before about the demand for a mid-week 'retired gentleman's' camp.
This would have the obvious benefit of less busy campsites and/or nearby pubs with accommodation. All easier to book midweek.

FWIW, I won't be attending this gig because I haven't got a box that wobbles. Sorry for the thread highjack. Enjoy.

No, but you have bikes that roll, ;) . you did Portsoy , and made it look easy :D

I’m pretty sure vans, tents, caravans, roof tents, campers and motorhomes would all be welcome. :thumb2
It all depends on the final site chosen as to what can go. Some don’t take tents, some don’t have hard standing, some don’t have electric or even an amenity block.

Indeed so.

I have been recommended a possible venue, by fellow UKGSer subscriber The Other Paul G.

I’ll contact the site over the next week or so and find out what’s what.

The good thing is that the location is reasonably central and decently priced.

There’s this place…….
All camping types allowed. Motorhomes, campers, roof tents, normal tents…….
Pub next door for beer and food. :thumb2

Oh, and HARDSTANDING pitches for those of us without 4x4! :green gri

you missed out that it has nearby berths for canal boats

Near Dudley…. A place that’s impossible to say, without taking on a ‘brum accent.

showing interest here.
October most likely need either well draining and firm grass pitches or Gravel.
The Gate Hangs High looks to be just grass and may need levelling ramps. Some reviews over recent winters don't mention trouble getting on or off the site - and it's a pub!
Wolverley is a CandCC club site, does it allow non-menbers?

Bikers camped there in October if memory serves me right? Its indeed all grass. I didnt see many (if any hookups?) There were a few campervans on the grass and all managed to get off okay, but is on a slope and fairly well grassed. It did look at the time like they were thinking of gravelling more paths but best ask. Cracking venue otherwise.

We are possibly up for this in our T6 Camper Van, we are based in Surrey but retired so can travel and most dates could work.
