UKGSer 'Dent event' Friday 19th - Sunday 21st May 2017

wotcher

newbie style question - what happens at "dent" - is it a field, bikes and bring your own booze, with a ride or is there something else that occurs? Just trying to sell it "right" to the missus :)

cheers

nick

Proper campsite with great facilities, bring your own booze if you want and two pubs in the village both of which do food.
There is a ride out if you want and much socialising on the site and in the pubs.

I went last year for the first time and took my other half, she loved it and we are booked in for this coming year as well.

A brilliant friendly event and fab location :beerjug::friday:thumby::bounce1

Wouldn't miss this for anything... Friday and Saturday camping, pending return to work and booking leave.

I've just read all 11 pages of this and it sounds to me like an old style traditional bike weekend rally that I used to attend in my youth.
I haven't, knowingly, met anyone from this forum so it might be a good laugh for a weekend.
I'll check plans over the festive period and, hopefully, I'll be there plus bike and tent.
So long as the pubs serve some real ale and / or good dark beer - none of this lager pish!

The George & Dragon is the brewery tap of the Dent Brewery  ...and the Sun Inn always has a few good ales on too.

Micky at great self sacrifice makes regular checks on the local ale :beer:

I asked about the beer, apparently "It's not southern beer down here, it's northern beer"

Which, coming down from Kingussie I have to say I'm looking forward to :thumb2
