Following the success of this year’s trial run, it was agreed that we should aim to restage the event in 2027, hopefully in the latter part of September, after the schools have gone back and before the light dies.

Friday 17th thro’ to Sunday 19th September looked to be mutually acceptable, so let’s go for that.

Venue: To be agreed on, though somewhere central (Midlands’ish) seems sensible.

Basic requirements: Hard standing options hopefully, an area for tents, pub or restaurant within reasonable walking distance - or a fish and chips van or similar - for the Friday night. Dog friendly and (hopefully) somewhere where we’ll maybe be allowed a sensible open fire, providing we are not in a super drought. The fire thing though is not necessarily a deal breaker. Showers / WC.

Usual stuff: Pitch-up on Friday. Saturday, do your thing. Saturday evening BBQ. Sunday, pack-up and retreat. Later arrivals on Saturday are not a problem.

Tents welcome, too!

I’m working on the 17th & 18th so that’s me out again! :blast

Any opportunity to change shifts, this far out?
Possibly.
But, I may be saving my holiday up like I did this year and use it all when I get my right knee replaced.
If I can time it right I may be off anyway.

Excellent, Neil and thank you.

What might be an idea, is to have your chilli on Friday night and the BBQ on Saturday, perhaps?

Ferry Meadows, Peterborough has been suggested. It’s somewhere I have been. It’s a large site, run by the Camping and Caravan Club. It’s convenient for the A1, A47, A605. I think / know that fire will be a no-no.

As a very different alternative, there is a small private site, in the village of Badby, Northamptonshire. This will no doubt be basic but, assuming we are not tinderbox dry, does allow fires. I know the village pretty well. I’ll be going up to that part of the world sometime, so I’ll drop by and take a look.

Anyway, lots of time to consider more options, so sing-up if you have an idea, please.
