Under seat accessory connection part numbers?

Does anyone know if there's a BMW connector part available to plug in to the under seat accessory wiring (eg: unplug the under seat socket and plug in a new connector to run up under the tank cover to power a 12v cig socket for my tank bag).

I read that there's a 3 pin connection available up near the front of the bike, but would like the 2 pin equivalent to use the connection to the existing accessory socket under the seat (since I'm unlikely to plug anything in there, on the outside of the bike).

I found this on advrider:

...remove the seat, take out the harness that clips into the back of the accessory socket and look at the 2 wires going IN to the plastic connector that mates with the accessory socket. In the hole where the live wire enters, there's enough room in there to take a bullet connector, squeeze it a BIT with a pair of pliers or a bench top vise grip and slip it in.. It stays in there pretty solidly.

But the correct connector would be the preferred option...

BMW do a splitter connector that does what you want.
Part number 61 12 7 712 581 plugs into the back of your original power socket and gives you an extra lead to mount a socket at the front.

I have done this with a lead from ebay that connects a standard cigarette lighter socket to the Optimate fused charging lead that I have connected to the battery terminals.

Although it does present the question of whether I'd want a switched supply or directly connected to the battery... (BMW cable prices may influence the decision too!)

Based on the snippet from advrider:

I took a look at the connection under the seat, but perhaps there are different versions of this connector as there doesn't seem to any space to get a bullet connector in there on a 2012 bike...

Anyone managed this ?

Just cut the two wires going into the socket, and then splice in the extra wires, and connect it all up again. Simple.

Thanks all... for the moment I've used a right angle plug (hella) onto a chopped standard 12v socket extension lead (coiled variety) which runs up under the tank cover to pull out and into the tank bag when it's fitted.

This has removed the inline glass fuse from the plug on the extension cable, but I understand that the socket on the bike will cut the power if it exceeds a couple of amps ?

Testing shows the power ceases a minute or so after the ignition is off which is fine my use as the devices have internal batteries (eg: ipod with tomtom).

The plug connection does sit on the outside, into the standard accessory socket, which allows me to unplug it easily, and if weather proofing is an issue I'll move the socket to inside under the toolkit tray.
