Just fitting the tank bag to my new Triple Black tonight and noticed something in a small plastic bag squeezed under the rider seat, looks like some sort of connector. Any idea what it is?

plug for enduro pro mode:thumb2

Once fitted, you'll be able to use the space you've now discovered under the seat to store a couple of favourites from your stamp collection or maybe a few inches of string! Bonus!

I bought my bike second hand from a dealer and it never came with a coding plug. Can't say I've ever missed it!

You will start to miss it as soon as you go off road. Until then, all.is well. :)

just plug it in,it won't work till you use it within the On Board Computer....you would not want to lose if from under the seat, so just plug it in and its safe .If you sold the bike the purchaser might want it ...if its not there

I just plugged mine in this afternoon, with expectations something big was going to happen. It didn't.

I'm doing the BMW Off Road Skills level 1 in September, maybe I'll learn how to use it better then.

It's not like it does a lot if you are a road only rider. Basically you can select the engine mode in Dynamic Pro from DYNA, ROAD or RAIN instead of just the default DYNA, and you can similarly alter the traction control setting, and these changes will be stored and remembered. If you ride off road then you can do a similar thing for the Enduro Pro mode, with the addition that you can also alter the ABS setting. Read all about it, starting on page 70 of the manual.
