Just out of curiosity does any one know what's attached to the underside of the fuel tank on the offside.
It's about 5" long and 2" wide made of plastic and is fixed onto the flat area of the actual plastic tank on the offside,it looks as if something should clip into it.:nenau
Bike is a 59 1200.

Hi dave,
No not the air intake,it's actually attached to the tank looks as though it's plastic welded to it,and looks as though something should clip into it.

Isn’t a place where a carbon granule container is mounted for the emission regs of the USA, ie to absorb petrol fumes?

Underneath the tank on the off side? On my GSA there is a plastic clip on the bottom of the tank - there is a loop in the clip to take the breather tube thats routed from the fuel filler down the RH side of the tank. It's just a few inches away from the air intake. Do you mean that?:nenau

It's the warranty control module. As soon as it runs out the module causes the FD, FPC and ring antenna to fail and the paint to drop off... :augie ;)
