the front wheel looks fantastic.. really changes the look of the bike.. what difference has it made to how it feels on the road.. cheers

The wheel conversion was the kit from Motorworks,no mucking around, old wheels out,new wheels in,they supplied everything from the longer rear wheel bolts to the different ratio-ed speedometer drive box.
Handling wise,it has quickened up the steering slightly, but more on a 'heavy and slow' to 'slightly less heavy and slow' difference!
It is certainly not sports bike quick, predictable and planted are words I'd use.
The bars like a bit of counter-steering when entering the corner but this might be down to the tonnage of the bike.

I've now fitted the Bridgestone BT020 tyres to the bike, what a transformation!
I pushed the bike out of the workshop after re-fitting the wheels and it felt as if there was less rolling resistance. I put this down to,perhaps, having had a sticking caliper which had freed off when pushing the caliper pistons in to aid caliper removal.
On the road, the difference was apparent, the bike feels eager to fall into corners, the heaviness in the steering has disappeared.Perhaps the worn-out Contis were a bit low on pressure, but any pressure loss would be impossible as they were running with Ultraseal, read the blurb.:D
I haven't bothered with the magic lube this time,a can of Finilec or similar will be carried.
On the underslung silencer modification, has anyone else completed the conversion,or is anyone in the throes of doing it?
I've tested the bike a bit more now,the most interesting thing is that, when accelerating,I keep going for an extra gear when in 5th.
Also, with the original set-up,the engine fell into a 'hole' at about 110kmh,before clearing at about 130kmh,this has now disappeared and the roll-on acceleration is linear throughout.
Next question is:It's still raining, what shall I fiddle with next?

It's not over-clean,it is possible, with the use of a mirror,to find nooks and crannies with traces of dust in them:D
Plus, there is surface rust on the front shock spring.
But,there again,it is over 10 years old!
