Unlock codes

Hello people.
I have downloaded City Navigator v8 to my laptop and unlocked them. At first they wouldn't open until one of you clever fellows suggested opening mapsource by right clicking and opening as administrator. All was well. However I have downloaded BMW Dealer waypoints for europe and they wont open. It was suggested that I should download the latest version of Mapsource so I have did this and it all opens fine and seems to be tickety boo.
However, it now says my v8 maps are locked and tells me to plug in the Garmin and go online etc. What a bloody pain. I have the bona fida unlock codes so is there anyway to unlock them without trying to access it vai a website. The box at the bottom for the unlock codes isn't active on that page. Do I have to plug my 2610 in to the pc before this happens.

Tried it. Wont work and wont allow me to unlock online. Very close to smashing my laptop now!
Any ideas?

Seriously, call Garmin support - they're very helpful.

Hi mate,

If you have the map installed but it is not unlocked you can go to "utilities" and "manage map products". You can then go to "unlock region" and "add" and then enter the unlock code you already have. That may do it.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I uninstalled the whole chabang (is that a real word?) last night and will try and re install tonight with the old version of mapsource that is with the v8 city nav disc. The unlock problem only began when I installed the latest update of Mapsource. If I encounter anymore probs I will give that utilities thing a go. I have 2 weeks before I go so hopefully should have it up and running by then.
Will keep you posted.

When you were trying to transfer the BMW dealers, were you trying to send the whole map data, or just the waypoints?

How about a System Restore on your computer to the day before you updated Mapsource?

That would be the sensible thing to do before I uninstalled the whole lot.
Will try and re install tonight. Never had a problem on my old windows 2000 or XP but this vista is a load of old shite IMHO!
Must get it fixed soon. Cant have the War Department sitting behind me doing the map reading. We'd never get to the ferry at Newcastle never mind navigate round Yerp!
