Unusual Rear Tourance Wear?

If both these areas are directly under the edges of the tyre then I'd say it was due to under inflation.
How long had you been stopped before you checked the tyre pressure after the incident? The reason I'm asking is that if the tyres were still warm, and they would've been a lot warmer than normally due to the heat build, then the pressure reading would read a fair bit higher.
It could thereore indicdate 34Psi when it may actually have been nearer to 24Psi, just a guesstimate there, but you get my drift?

Cheers
Steve

To be honest I can't remember if the tyres were displaying any unusual wear before I set out to Spain. But for sure, there was no way they were showing any sign of the horror to come.

Whilst the bike was fully loaded for the trip the distance traveled loaded wasn't great, - may be 800miles tops.

The tyre pressures are always checked cold and the pressure at the start of the holiday was 44lbs .

Well I'd try and get them examined by metzler, they might be able to shed some light on it all.
Good luck mate
Steve
