up rated horn (oooerrrr)

I can't remember the last time I needed a horn, let alone a louder than standard one.

??

I may not use my horn on every ride, but I probably cover it with my thumb on every ride, and probably use it once a week. Ok, I live in the south east and it's busy, but if I'm passing a nearside side road in urban stuff and there's a car waiting to pull out (and the drivers looking to his/her left), a friendly beep beep 'hello? have you seen me?' (followed up with a little wave of acknowledgement when they turn and look at me) is a no brainer... :thumb2

Not a situation I've found myself in often, but definitely not of late.
If I had the standard horn would suffice I'm sure.

I have the Denali sound bomb wired via a relay. The compressor is under the seat and the horn, after some re-modelling sits where the standard horn was. Sounds fantastic and very loud, even gets the attention of hood rats with the stereos turned up to instant deafness level. That said it will bring up a fault code if used for extended time.

I left the old horn connected to keep the ECU happy

I agree, and differ to Giles ... with the greatest of respect :bow

If you need a horn you need the brakes. Mine only ever gets used at MOT time  (brakes and horn)

OK OK OK I know all the theory about papping your horn, and if it works for you, or to date it has worked for you, then fine ....

.... but one day it won't 'cos the feckers deaf! Eh!

.... or listening to the 1812 at full belt :rob

.... or their mind is a zillion miles away :blast

I work on the principle that if I need my horn I need my brakes, or Devine intervention :angel

Ha ha ...

For me, it's often a friendly 'Hello .. ?' ... 'Yoo-Hoo .. have you seen me?' It doesn't mean I'm not going to be able to stop in time, it doesn't mean the old road craft 'using your horn doesn't justify using excess speed', it's just an eye contact grabber often followed up by a quick and casual thumbs up of acknowledgement. (Side road on the nearside, two cars waiting to turn, one to the right, and the other, struggling to see and edging his bonnet out to turn left ... )

Don't forget life down here is pretty busy, this ain't Dent in the 1950's with Compo Foggy and Clegg ... :D

Well the last time I used my horn it was one of these :P

:D
