Updated GS/GSA for late 2017

Hi

No but as I was only into a PCP deal 10 months its complicated, however got the finance at 5.9 apr before the rise which I believe is now 7.9 apr ( or will be shortly). I guess it depends on your circumstances and the deal you hammer out. all deals vary. I got the standard GS in Sept 2016 at 3.9 apr, which will not be available in near future I'm guessing . May be wrong but its a judgement call when you jump in, I guess. Hang on till winter you may get a better deal that at present.

Above all , I suppose it depends on how much you want the shiny new ( red one now shiny) GSA.

Cheers

For what's it worth, the 7.9% may represent a rise on what you got previously, but it's actually a 2% reduction on the 9.9% that has been on the GS and GSA since April. Before this it was 3.9%.

Dealers have percentage leeway in what they are able to offer. Your 5.9% is not therefore the 'old' rate, but a discount on the current rate. I expect that as you were moving off a 10 mth pcp at 3.9% the dealer cut the difference with you.

Thanks for that. My local dealer keeps pushing me towards a MY17 bike and said there were 'no deals' on the MY18 ones.

Time to look at a new place I think. What I can't work out yet is how much cheaper a '17 bike would need to be to make up for the depreciation against the '18 with the TFT etc. Of course, I have to also balance playing the waiting game vs wanting something NOW! :bounce1

I see the mothership are now offering free panniers when you buy a new GS - but not one built on or after 1 Sept. That's a slightly bizarre offer as presumably it'll only refer to the stock floating around the system and the tiny amount of bikes they'll make before the summer break. It certainly points to a new model turning up as otherwise what would be the point of sweetening the deal for bikes in stock now, other than tempting folk away from the 67 plate?

The newer model with the TFT dash starts production 5th Sept IIRC. That's why the cut off date seems weird.

I bet that's only if you pay full RRP for the bike?

I got my bike nearly £1200 off RRP so it's swings and roundabouts.

Especially good for me when I already had Givi Panniers used on another bike, which bolted on once I'd bought the Rack Converter.

Me too :-) plus 15% of nav, lights etc. Betcha we wouldn't have got that if the tft connectivity hadn't been in the pipeline :-)

The other consideration in this is the price rise. The GS TE Ex with alarm was 15,775 - it's now it's 16,150, a £425 increase, which is more than half the cost of the panniers. If you add on TFT and SOS, its 17,050.

Going to the dealers today, he's called me in to order my new GSA, I had planed on the triple black the alarm and tft, but I'm going to look at the rallye, it's only £130 more. However the rally's comes in to different options, so I'm told, enduro and road, different seats, tyres and no rear pegs, not sure as to what other changes there are.
The dealers already sold my part EX.
