On Thursday I updated my 660 & two things occurred that puzzled me
A) I no longer had enough memory to hold the updated maps, so had to use a 4G SD card.
I am certain that in the past there has been an option to just load the UK & the ROI, or the same plus western Europe.
But not this time.
Anyway, I now have Software 4.90.
B) I tested the unit today & found that the “voice” had gone from English to American.
When I checked the settings, under language I found I only have a choice of:-
American English
Australian English
Spanish
French-Canadian
Italian
Leaving the last three out of the equation, I don’t like the two “English” options,
The US version talks about “the Interstate” etc.
The Australian lady, although a pleasant accent, uses different terms to us here in the UK.
Take as an example, the A429 road, which we would call “the A four two nine”; that becomes “the A four hundred & twenty nine”.
The previous "English - English" choice used the format that most of us are familiar with.
It is rather annoying.
Was this supposed to happen ?
