Updating Maps in TomTom Rider 2

Hi Folks,
My wife bought me a TT Rider 2 for my birthday in April. Thought I'd take up the offer on the TT website which offers quarterly updates, six quarters for the price of four. My Rider 2 has GB and Ireland on it. When I came to buy the update offer, it wouldn't do it.

So I contacted them via e-mail, and the response, after two days, was that the TT Rider 2 is not compatible with the offer. They guy gave me a whole load of instructions to send something to him from my TT Rider 2 which he could alter to make mine compartible but when I tried to send the stuff, following his instructions, a fault came up and it wouldn't send.

Has anyone else had this problem? Has anyone done an update using the offer?

I know the one you mean, (but I thought it was a bit too expensive ).

Can only offer a 'bump', by way of help. Mebbe all the knowledgeable (tomtom) types are on holiday.

I've had my TT2 for about 2 years and have had no problem purchasing the offer on extra free maps - bought one a few months ago. Seeing as your TT is fairly new, have you used the option of a free update?

After three attempts to make sense of the Support from TomTom, they sent me a new file to download to my Rider 2, and told me to remove one file.

After doing all this, I was then able to download the present offer of 6 updates for the price of four.

I couldn't do this before. I could only download a full-price update of the mapping.

Feeling happier now.
