apparently there is one running around these shore's done by a company in kent:D

It depends what you expect from the bike. If you are prefer the most reilable bike for the long trips outside of authorised service support, then keep your present bike. The maximum change can be exhoust and wús catalisator an may be the ceramic glutch. It's all. Othes keep as it is now.

Upgrade

Lowering the grearin is a rreal boon in traffic and this will certainly save the clutch as you can go almost to nought without touching the clutch not the case with this high bottom gear, also improves acceleration (but not spelling!)
I found after trial and error a bevel box from an 1100 is the one 33/11 which gives as light reduction and is good (many thanks Neal still going strong) don't use one from an 850R as reccomended on the Ad Riders site as you'll be doing wheelies with a top speed of about 60! (too low).
Dave gs. (easy to fit and easy to remove to original if required, don't forget to get an ABS version with the hole in the back if you have ABS.).

just buy a sports bike if you want proper performance - that's what i did

an 1150 is a bus and always will be no matter how you describe it :D

OK :augie A bit of late feed-back on this one.

Just wanted to say thanks to Steptoe and Motobiker. Based on your advice I've finally decided to keep my 2003 1150 GS as is, as long as it till now has been without any kind of trouble. With regard to fuel consumtion (for longer trips) and just to minimize the risk for any kind of hassle in the future I've decided to let it be. All my experience with this bike till now says it completeley hassle-free, and as I'd love it to stay that way I've decided not to provoke my luck. Should I decide for other qualities in the bike I'll get another one.

Thanks for your comments.
