Wanted Upper coil pack R1200GS 2011

Is there no one nearby that you could swap to test ?? any 1150 twin spark variant could swap in to test

In the other post I sent links to those Beru Stick coils

They are good they are brand leaders in the Ignition market place having been OE for Renault etc etc for many years

It would be worth it to just check your plugs and test them on the cylinders to see if you definitely have a bad stick or a bad plug ?

Also there are other tests, Disconnect the lower Stick coils Will it run ??

If it runs badly? Take a tin of WD40 or some other spray and scoosh the headers, If both cylinders are running? it should vaporise pretty much immediately If one stays cold that's a faulty one! (in fact do it any way and see if one is much hotter than the other! )

NOW Diagnostic lesson 2! Move the coil stick, not the plug !! Does the fault stay on that cylinder or foes it follow the Stick coil ??

Other things to check before firing the parts cannon !

Are the cables seated in the splitter box? As per the Oilheads, These can run rough if the cable is out of place, and I think I am correct in saying that you have been lifting the tank on and off a fair bit ?

Are your injector and Stepper motor plugs seated correctly ?

If you hold the rpm at 12 to 1500 and unclip an injector, Does it die back badly ?? If it does not that is your problem right there Sticky injector? Blocked nozzle ??

AND check the all fuel pipe connections are all made correctly If the return is not connected and releasing the excess pressure pressure the Fuel Volume injected is WAY higher than it should be

Which is back to something that I said on the other thread, what are your upper plugs like ? Now they may be sooty but there are a couple of possibilities

Anyway that info again so it does not disappear

Brilliant, thankyou sir.

I’ve done a lot of these already but a few I can still try.

I’m away up on western isles and now away with work to Guyana for a couple of weeks. So keen to have some parts to try on my return.

For the sake of £60 I’ll just get one to try but was going to do both.

I swapped the suspect coil and the fault follows the coil.

I did check the searing of the cables as I fell fowl of this last year.

I fitted new metal Quick Release fuel connections as one was leaking in past, took the chance to get a set when I was in the states last year.

I’ll try the other tests.

It did run with the lowers disconnected but badly.

Cheers
