I have just ordered a pair of hood jeans and I am now looking for a pair of short bike boots that are comfortable, cover my ankles, give good protection and dont make me look/walk like Robocop !

Any one out there with recommendations (I know wear proper boots :blast)

Dont want to spend too much as they will only be used in summer - that'll be one week a year then :Motomartin

Alpinestars do a selection of small boots (i have a pair) the one-o-one and several other designs.

Hein Gerick also do a selection of summer boots.

I have just got the sidi Canyons very good comfy looks like a normal boot , gore tex and good walking but £169 :eek

Hope this helps

"The total amount payable is £143.95" every little helps!

Problem with buying over the net is the size.

Too big too small , imposible to tell buy looking at the screen , and if there wrong they have to go back and wait for stock etc etc the list goes on and on ,trust me i know. :rob and then postge cost !!!1:rob and then sent buy courier who delivers Monday when every one is at work , so you have to redliver at a cost of £5.00 and collect on Saturday between 8.00 and 9.00 and have to travel 20 miles to the depot.

Sorry rant over (had a bad experience)

It is also nice to go into the bike shop once in a while and try and support them. I usualy have a coffee (not that its worth £20) but its the whole customer service thing :mmmm

PS i do have funy sized feet!:D

Altberg?

I have the Bandog all weather boots. Excellent comfort and protection you can easily walk, bike or hike in them. Used my pair every day for 3 years and they have never leaked. A broken lace is a much easier repair compared to a snapped buckle.

Altberg do a made to measure service and this is well worth it IMO, comfort straight out of the box.

Worth a look.

Roger,

if I have seen Puma flat V2 boots??? YES on my feet... I have it for 3months wearing to commute, riding around....

I considered them really nice boot s for what they offer....you have always to know why you buy something... and when I did it I want it, I wanted boots that I can wear from 08:30 till 21:00 in the work, protect me when I am riding and....of course to look nice....and I believe that they do exactly what they plan to do...

I am not 18...unless if you add 10 years more...I am not riding moped 50cc but something 24times bigger...

They are a good option when you searching for a pair of short bike boots that are comfortable, cover my ankles, give good protection and don't make me look/walk like Robocop

Was looking at some Thor 50/50 and the Hein Gericke Stunt Boots but won a pair of HG Tuareg Goretex so didn't end up buying.
Both seem to have good ankle protection and tough soles (the footpegs on the Adventure eat through soft soled stuff).

I bought a pair of Alpinestars Tech 2, thinking they would be ideal..................

Unfortunately, they make you walk (and in my case - look) like :

and make gear-shifting difficult.

Hi Jim, have you got the Alpinestar Tech 2's? I bought a pair the other day and find it really awkward changing up the gearbox with them on. Tried adjusting the gear change lever but then makes it really awkward changing down!!

Have you experienced similar?

Probably none left at any Hein Gericke shops but I got a pair of Puma Flat 2 GTX Black boots for £29.99 (think the RRP was about £160) which give good protection and are waterproof (goretex).

Puma Flat 2 GTX Features and Benefits
Maximum Stability 360-degree ankle protection cockpit
TPU molds and inner foam inserts for improved stability and lateral impact protection
Impact Protection TPU inserts on medial and lateral ankle level for protection in the event of a crash
Forefoot toe-box inserts for additional protection
Improved Traction Outsole modeled after the 1000 racing boot, offering maximum grip
Integrated forefoot slider for abrasion resistance

I also have a pair of Hein Gericke sheltex boots similar to the Sheltex boots in the link below and they are very comfortable and waterproof. Don't even notice them as motorcycle boots when worn with my Draggin Jeans Combats.

yes, everyone over a size 7 must av probs, i extended my lever by 1 inch, then all was fine, now this is done and the boots are run in, they are fine, waterproof and comfy, but it took ages:thumb
must be realised that these are not really a "road" boot

I got a pair of Daytona ankle boots a few years ago, but only wore them a few times. Personally I prefer more protection on the upper shin than they offered. I'll probably put them up for sale on here in a week or two, size 11 if anyone's interested.
