OK, on the back of the headlamp unit is a is a power cable that terminates in a female plug with a spring clip to hold it in place.

The spring clip has sprung in to one of those mythical places where it is now enjoying a comfortable life with all the lost bic pens and odd socks. I've employed the powers of the Psychic Finder of Lost Things, but after an hour on the shed floor I had to let the wife go back to work.

This means that the connector now fails to remain connected. This results in a loss of illumination :(

Called a couple of dealers, and this little clip is only available by special order from Germany and is going to cost me £13. FOR A SPRING CLIP :yikes And no real assurance when it'll arrive.......

I've called Motorworks, and they are ferreting about trying to liberate one from used stock, but no word yet on the success of this endeavour.

Now, I'm someone that prefers to have lights at night, so this is all a little inconvenient. Especially as I'm off to the Elefantentreffen next Wednesday.

So, any ideas from the collective as to how such a seemingly trivial clip can be obtained?

I need a light bulb moment........

spring clip

You could always use the spring clip from one of the injector plugs (think they are the same) as a temp measure. The plug on the injector would be easy to secure with a small cable tie and would leave you with enough time to find someone with an old loom with plug you could liberate the clip from.

It's the little springy shape bits that lock in place that are important......

I've a fear it may well have been on the bike before I took it for new tyres.....

Thanks - yes, I've considered that, although not checked the size as the injector plugs are 2 pin and the headlight is 3 pin.

That's my last resort:thumb2

got a car scrapyard near you? should be a fairly common bosch connector found on thousands of cars.

Good thinking......

The only problem is finding the right size, as I haven't got one to compare with........

I'll check the injector clip and see if it's the same....:thumb2

Might help in terms of sizing a replacement. I reckon a thick paperclip could be made to work though...

Use the vacuum cleaner !, l dropped one of the washer's you use when fitting the toilet seat to the loo. The world cup octopus could'nt ave got his 'hand' into the space in the back of the seat itself.
Lightbulb moment = was emptying the dyson, used the hose with 'pointy' attachment and hoovered in the space - got it!! :).

Vac the area around lights etc in case the little sods hiding / vac the shed floor/nooks & crannies. Hope it's there :thumb2

No.

It's the main power connector from the loom to the headlamp unit rather than on either of the individual bulbs.

Pleased to see that pic. I had to adjust the bulb in my lamp the other day and thought some dosy sod had broken the clip holder as there was just a screw with a washer there for it to tuck under, now seeing this pic i cannot beleive that they are all held in with a little screw and two washers lol

They aren't :thumb That was from a site where someone was talking about what to do if you break the clip holder :D

It's the one in this diagram marked lighting power connector.
