Hiya
looks like you may have either damaged the USB port or one of the other USB ports has failed coincidentally at this time.
Firstly, look carefully into the one that you used most recently and check to see if there is any damage to the inside of the USB port are there any of the "wires" exposed and touching each other (causing a short circuit and hence the over current). If so, just seperate them and don't use the port.
Check your other ports similarly and then test all your ports to identify the faulty one (use a USB stick in each and see if the light flashes correctly to identify that the drive is being accessed, or such like)
Once you know which port is at fault, dependant on the manufacturer / warranty / ability etc, you may be able to disassemble the case and follow the wires back from the USB port and simply unplug them from the motherboard (if you find the ports directly soldered to the motherboard, check the joints are ok, or give it a quick blast with a hot air gun). Note: even some laptops have USB ports on wired connections.
If this all fails (or you can't be bothered) just press F1 on each startup..., you may get messages from Windows saying to the effect of "I found a fault, I don't want to play" and shutting down, you may not.
If windows works fine with the port knackered, and you don't want to press F1 each time, go into the BIOS on startup and turn off the "Halt on errors" option.
Have fun!
